PORT HARCOURT— Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that five people died in the recent cult clash that rocked about four communities in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area in Rivers State...
In the second week of December, the cult war in about four communities of Egi clan, Akabuka, Obite, Ogbogu and Egita disrupted the fragile peace in the area.
A source who related the incident to Vanguard, said that several properties were damaged while over 21 people were feared dead following the sporadic shooting by the rival cult groups.
It was gathered that the communities have already been deserted.
The source added that the war was between two cult groups in the area, Greenlanders and Icelanders, which have been terrorising the people of the area.
Although the security personnel deployed in the clan had restored peace, the communities at press time were still deserted.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the command, Ahmad Muhammad, the command said, that only five people were killed in the cult clash.
