Oghenekaro Etebo on duty for U-23 Eagles

I’m Not Aware, Says Club Secretary

Nigeria premier league side, Warri Wolves, have placed a staggering $2 million (about N560 million) on U-23 midfielder, Oghenekaro Etebo, according to Mtnfootball.com.

But the secretary of Warri Wolves, Lawrence Omoghor told The Guardian yesterday that he was not aware of such amount placed on Etebo saying: “The Delta State Sports Commission just got a new management and as far as the secretariat of Warri Wolves is concerned, we are not aware of such amount of money placed on any player. Maybe, by next week, the picture will get clearer,” Omoghor said in a telephone chat yesterday.

Etebo was stand-out performer as Nigeria clinched the U-23 AFCON in Senegal last week.
He was top scorer at the championship with five goals and has been nominated for the CAF Most Promising Talent of this outgoing year.
Several clubs are already queuing up for the exciting attacking midfielder including Egyptian double champions, Zamalek.
Two top Tunisian clubs are already willing to join the race for the players, it was further gathered.

Mtnfootball.com quoted a top officials at the Delta Sports Commission saying that they have demanded for $2 million as transfer fee for Etebo,”

Etebo, who has previously undergone trials in Italy, has been capped by Nigeria at full international level.
In his rookie season, two years ago, with his hometown club he netted 16 goals and this past season he fired five goals as Wolves finished runners-up behind champions Enyimba.
