THE All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Monday, threatened to boycott the April 23 local government
elections conducted by State Independent Electoral Commission (ODIEC).
The party’s position was made known by its state chairman, Mr Isaac Kekemeke at a leaders consultative meeting held in Akure...
Kekemeke, who hinged the party’s decision on the lack of faith in the leadership of the state electoral body, described it as “a sham meant to trap our party.”
Last week, the electoral body gave the political parties three months notice for the conduct of local government elections in the 18 council areas of the state.
The chairman said ODIEC rather than conduct election, has the intention to select chairmen and councillors for local government areas in the state.
