Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose, has advised Ekiti residents to embrace family planning and reduce the number of children to a maximum of three, so that they can get the best education they required. ..
Mrs Fayose said these in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday while donating materials to the five rehabilitation homes across the state in commemoration of her 52nd birthday anniversary. She said, “With what is happening to our economy now and financial implications of having too many children, I don’t think anybody should be advised to embrace family planning.
“If you are really blessed, I don’t think you should have more than three children, so that you will be able to take care of them. If they are many, they can become nuisance to the society”.
She advised parents with physically-challenged children not to be ashamed of sending them to schools or rehabilitation centers noting that she was not oblivious of the fact that some parents are still feeling ashamed to send their handicapped children to schools, warning that doing so may scuttle the dream of making them relevant in the society.
Mrs Fayose, said part of the efforts to actualize this dream, which has become a policy thrust of this government propelled her to build a special school within the premises of the Erelu Adebayo Children’s Home in Iyin Ekiti.
She assured that all the seven rehabilitation orphanage centres in the State will be rehabilitated as promised by government , while utility vehicles will be provided to enhance effective functioning of their staff.
