The Senate, on Thursday, summoned the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, over the continuous fall of the naira against the dollar...
The summon was sequel to a point of order raised by Senate Leader, Senator Ali Ndume, who asked his colleagues to intervene and save the nation's currency.
The governor is to appear before the Senate during the plenary next Tuesday by 11:00 a.m.
Ndume told his colleagues that it was expedient for the Senate to intervene by inviting the CBN governor to brief them on what the apex bank is doing on the sliding naira which he said was worrisome
Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, subsequently directed Ndume to convey Senate’s resolution to the CBN governor.
