THE Court Martial Board of the Nigerian Army, has resumed the trial of eight of its personnel, among who is a
Brigadier at the 9 Brigade, Ikeja Cantonment, Lagos...
This came as NA dismissed earlier report that 19 officers were being court-martialed.
Those on trial are; Brigadier-General J.O Komolafe, Colonels I.B. Maina and I. A Aboi; Lieutenant Colonels NN Orok C. A. Magaji, A.O. Agwu and O.O. Obolo and a soldier with an undisclosed identity.
Vanguard gathered that these personnel were among the former 22 officers who had been on trial for offences ranging from alleged desertion, to cowardice and alleged failure to fight the Boko Haram sect.
Their alleged offences also included negligence and complicity in the invasion of the 21 Artillery Brigade, Bama, by insurgents , September, 2015.
The trial of the officers which started last year has witnessed series of postponement, attributed to transfers and promotions of members of the Army Board.
Vanguard gathered that of 22 officers brought before the Army Court Martial Board, 14 of them had their cases disposed off.
The 14 officers are Colonels A. Laguda, V. Ebhaleme, V.O. Ita, I.M Kabir, M.H. Abubakar, A. A. Egbejule, A.J.S. Gulani and A.M. Adetuyi.
Major M.M Idris; Captains M Adamu, O. A. Adenaike, M. Gidado, M.M. Clark and S. Raymond and one Second Lieutenant S.O Olowa, made up the number.
