The fuel scarcity in the country, continues to bite harder as some independent petroleum marketers in Umuahia, the state capital, are selling petrol for between N170 and N200 per litre. The commodity, however sells for N400 per liter, at the black markets at strategic locations in the Abia State capital
When Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), monitored the situation in the area, few independent marketers selling the premium motor spirit at government-controlled price of of N87 per liter are attracting long queues of vehicles as prospective buyers wait patiently for their turns to buy the commodity.
Some motorists who claimed to have spent two days on the queue waiting to buy the commodity but to no avail, said that the situation had caused untold hardship to them.
